lyrics
OVERTIME
The Good Times Feel So Far To Me
Like Little Black Dots Hidden In My Memory
So Please Remind Me
That All I Need Is Sleep
All I Want Is Freedom
A Little Freedom That’s All Mine
So I Look To My Elders
Who Say Be Patient
Healing Takes Time
C: Hurts A Little Less Over Time
Hurts A Little Less Over Time
Maybe I Keep Lying
Because I’ve Coped So Long
Been A Long Long Time
Hurts A Little Less Over Time
One Foot In Front Of The Other
Keep Running Down This Road Alone
Am I Running Away Or Towards A Better Version Of Myself
It’s A Mental Freedom
A Discipline You Have To Mine
A Gift From My Elders
Who Say Be Patient
Healing Takes Time
Hurts A Little Less Over Time
Work A Little Less Over Time

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
Layering guitars and saxes over synths and drum machines, this Oakland duo's darkwave is as melodically potent as it is texturally rich. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 1, 2024
My favorite albums of 2023, #6.
The bastard child of early Venom and Black Flag, with just a touch of The Wipers' pop instincts. Amazingly underproduced, it sounds like it was recorded on a boombox. Levrikon
